"MUSICAL THEATER LOVING FRIENDS, IF YOU'RE NOT AT
MUSICAL MONDAYS ON THE FIRST MONDAY OF THE MONTH,
YOU ARE MISSING OUT!"
CHERRY AND SPOON

MUSICAL MONDAYS is a monthly cabaret series featuring musical theatre performers in the Twin Cities, presented on the first Monday of every month.

Founded in November 2012 by Sheena Janson Kelley and Max Wojtanowicz, Musical Mondays provides performance opportunities for local artists in a casual and supportive industry-night setting. Each Musical Monday is comprised of a roughly 90-minute set of musical theatre and cabaret songs compiled by the musicians. Admission is general seating on a first-come, first-serve basis, and while a donation is encouraged, no one is turned away.

The series launched at Hell's Kitchen in downtown Minneapolis and moved in 2017 to
LUSH Lounge and Theater in northeast Minneapolis. To date, over 500 people have performed on the Musical Mondays stage, and in 2024, the Twin Cities theatre community gathered to celebrate Musical Monday's milestone 100th show!

Musical Mondays also regularly put a spotlight on our incredible local theatre scene by offering sneak peeks of upcoming performances and the chance to win tickets to shows all over town. We have been overwhelmed by the support from over fifty professional and community theatres and arts organizations who have donated tickets, including Artistry, Ashland Productions, Bucket Brigade, Chanhassen Dinner Theatres, Children's Theatre Company, Collide Theatrical, Daleko Arts, Frank Theatre, Guthrie Theater, Hennepin Arts, the Hive Collaborative, History Theatre, Illusion Theater, Jungle Theater, Lakeshore Players Theatre, Lyric Arts, Minneapolis Musical Theatre, Minnesota Fringe, Mixed Blood, Ordway Center for the Performing Arts, Park Square Theatre, Skylark Opera, Theatre Elision, Theater Latté Da, Theatre L'Homme Dieu, Theatre Mu, and Yellow Tree Theatre.

In January 2016, Musical Mondays was featured on Minnesota Original, Twin Cities Public Television's award-winning weekly arts series celebrating Minnesota’s creative community. Our segment is below!
